Acrylic · Mineral pigment
The mandala taught me that a circle is a promise of return. I remove the deities and keep the architecture: the rings, the gates, the careful centre. What remains is a map for attention. I hope someone looks at one of these for a long time and feels their breathing slow down.
Tenzin Dolma studied thangka painting at a monastery school in Sikkim for six years. Her current practice borrows the geometry of the mandala — its grids, its concentric order — and releases it into contemporary colour. She paints on stretched cotton and still primes each canvas in the traditional way.
